Both Pitt and Jolie have claimed that they fell for each other on the set of the 2005 action movie, but Pitt insisted that he was separated from Jennifer Aniston at the time.
He told W magazine: "We were still filming after Jen and I split up. Even then it doesn't mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn't. I'm very proud of the way it was handled. It was respectful."
Responding to Aniston's earlier comments about the break-up of her marriage, Pitt said that the media has been manufacturing a non-existent feud between Jolie and his ex-wife.
"I think she got dragged into that one, and then there's a second round to all of that Ange versus Jen," he commented. "It's so created."
