Pennant splits from model Grove

Footballer Jermaine Pennant has ended his relationship with glamour model Amii Grove.

The Liverpool and England winger is reportedly "in pieces" about the split, which was prompted by a potential career move to Spain or Italy.

"Jermaine is trying to get his head around his future and this is a very testing time for him," a source told The Mirror. "Amii played a big part in his life and was like family to him. She has certainly featured in his decision on whether to go abroad or not."

Groves, whose nickname is The Bum From Brum, began dating Pennant following his split from Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe. She is famous for winning the Miss Bikini World contest in 2004 and finished 66th in FHM's 2007 list of the Sexiest Women In The World.

Commenting on the split, Pennant said: "She's a lovely girl, but sadly I can't give her what she wants. So it's only fair that I let her go so she can get on with her life."

A spokesperson for the couple confirmed: "Jermaine and Amii have split."
