Hudson: 'I was meant to be with ex-husband'

Kate Hudson has revealed that she was destined to be with her ex-husband.

The Bride Wars star confessed that although her marriage to Chris Robinson failed, fate had meant them to have a child together.

"I don’t think we were meant to be married, but I think we were meant to have a child," she told The Mirror.

"We have this amazing little boy together - therefore we’ll be together our entire lives. Whoever he ends up with, whoever I end up with, we’ll always be together.

"He's still a permanent fixture in my life...But I believe our love changed its form, it shifted."

Hudson divorced Black Crowes singer Robinson in 2006 following six years of marriage, and the couple share custody of five-year-old son Ryder.
