Gael García Bernal welcomes first child

Actor Gael García Bernal has become a father for the first time.

The Y Tu Mama También star's girlfriend Dolores Fonzi gave birth to a son in Madrid on Thursday.

The couple, who have reportedly been dating since meeting on the set of Private Lives in 2002, are yet to release a name for the child.

García revealed in September that he was excited at the prospect of starting a family, saying: "Everyone's reaction is the same. I'm glad like every father."
