Baldwin: 'Radio slot is dream gig'

Alec Baldwin has revealed that his new role as host of the New York Philharmonic's national radio broadcasts is a "dream job".

The 30 Rock actor was named as the voice of the orchestra's programme by music director Alan Gilbert on Monday.

"[I will] go into the forest before each performance and think great thoughts before I perform my duties," he said on accepting the position.

Baldwin previously narrated the New York Philharmonic's Inside The Music programme last year.
