Katona 'mental health' show planned

Kerry Katona has agreed to take part in a new MTV series detailing her battle with bipolar disorder.

The former Atomic Kitten singer will be filmed as she takes medication for the condition and struggles to deal with the side effects.

Katona is reportedly keen to shed light on the mental health illness after a much publicised appearance on This Morning, during which the star's behaviour sparked widespread concern.

"The reaction to her appearance on This Morning shocked her deeply," a source told The Sun.

“She wants to explain how her condition and medication affect her work and relationships."

Previous series for the network have seen Katona have plastic surgery and give birth on camera.

"Fans thought they couldn’t get to know Kerry any more intimately - now they’re going inside her mind," the source added.

"She wants to try to salvage her tattered public image. She also needs the money."

The show is scheduled to air in spring.
