According to The London Paper, Paltrow has spent thousands of pounds at Agent Provocateur in a bid to lift her friend's spirits following her divorce from Guy Ritchie.
"Gwyneth just wants to see a smile on her face - hence the sexy underwear and toys," a source is quoted as saying.
The Iron Man actress is also said to be planning a girls only weekend for her and Madonna when the singer returns to London.
