Winehouse: 'I'm not out of control'

Amy Winehouse has rejected rumours that she is "out of control" on holiday in St Lucia.

The singer claimed that pictures of her crawling drunk along a floor have been taken out of context and she is just having fun.

"People think I'm a mess or something but I'm having such a great time and feeling so good at the moment," she told The Mirror. "I'm certainly not out of control as some people have said.

"Yes, I've had a few drinks but I'm on holiday - I'm just young and having fun. I'm getting loads of exercise, eating brilliantly and I've really been able to relax."

The star's father Mitch Winehouse flew out to the Caribbean island earlier this week amid reports that he was concerned about the state of her health.

"Even my dad coming to spend some time with me ends up being shown as drama," she said.

"We watched an FA Cup match together and didn't have talks at all. Yes, he likes to check on me - he's my Dad - but we were more interested in Southend."

Winehouse added that she has grown used to the constant coverage of her in the press.

"It's a shame that people judge me on every picture someone sends back home, but I've grown to accept that it's a price you have to pay," she said. "It's sad, but what can I do about it?"

The 25-year-old was recently thanked by the St. Lucian government for helping to promote tourism on the small Caribbean island.
