Clifford: 'Boy George comeback unlikely'

Rex Features

Doubts over Boy George's future career have been raised after the DJ was jailed for falsely imprisoning a male escort.

The former Culture Club singer has just started serving out a 15 month prison sentence after being found guilty of handcuffing Audun Carlsen to a wall and beating him with a metal chain during a drug-fuelled naked photoshoot at his Shoreditch flat.

PR guru Max Clifford told the BBC that a comeback was possible, but unlikely. "I think if you take George Michael as your guideline you can never say never," he said.

A lawyer for the singer, real name George O'Dowd, earlier told Snaresbrook Crown Court: "Not only will he lose money but also the chance to do what he loves - to entertain people who enjoy what he has to offer."
