Walters gets nervous at celeb events

Julie Walters has admitted that she shuns the celebrity lifestyle because she finds it too "stressful".

The actress confirmed that she is only willing to attend events when they are connected to movies she has starred in.

"I don't belong to any celebrity world. I do the odd premiere and they're very stressful if the truth be known," Walters explained.

"Mamma Mia! wasn't actually, that was very jolly. You've got Meryl [Streep] and everybody and they can deal with all of that. It was really good fun but generally speaking I find that sort of thing a bit nerve-wracking."

Walters also revealed that being named on the Birmingham Walk of Stars was one of the highlights of her career.

"It's like Hollywood, in Birmingham obviously," she explained. "They've got all the Birmingham people who've ever been in anything like Ozzy Osbourne, Noddy Holder, people like that.

"You get a bit of star in the pavement. Well that's my home town so I love that. It's bigger than my OBE and my CBE. There's something about it. Your home town, your roots."
