'Housewives' star's husband has cancer

Marcia Cross's husband has been diagnosed with cancer, reports People.

A representative for the Desperate Housewives actress confirmed that stockbroker Tom Mahoney is suffering from the disease, but no further information was available.

"He is currently under treatment and is responding very well," said Heidi Slan.

Cross, who plays Bree Hodge in the popular ABC drama, married Mahoney in June 2006. Following their wedding, she credited her husband with her happiness.

"I think that beauty comes from being happy and connected to the people we love," she said. "And his love makes me feel beautiful."

The couple have 23-month-old twin daughters Eden and Savannah.
