The former Friends star claimed that she has given so much relationship advice over the years that she could have made a career out of it.
"I feel I have an ability to understand relationships and see things clearly," she told More magazine.
"I've always tried to be supportive to the people who are close to me and I like to think that I give good advice. I think I'd have made a good therapist if I hadn't become an actress."
The star, who will reportedly receive a proposal from boyfriend John Mayer on her 40th birthday, added that she prefers her own problems to remain private.
"I'm a private person and even though I've enjoyed a lot of success, I still feel I have a right to some basic privacy. My career is going where I want it to go, and I'm working," she said.
"I'd rather not have my personal relationships receive so much attention, but that's not going to stop me from falling in love."
Aniston's next movie He's Just Not That Into You is released next month.
