Falk's wife against conservatorship order

Peter Falk's wife is opposing the Columbo actor's adopted daughter's request to place him under conservatorship.

In December, Catherine Falk, a former private detective, sought control of her father's estate after claiming in court papers that his ill health meant that he is susceptible to "fraud or undue influence". Catherine said that her father is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and dementia.

The actor's wife of 32 years Shera Danese Falk subsequently filed documents in Los Angeles Superior Court stating that she had been entrusted with her husband's affairs before he fell ill.

The papers include declarations from friends of the couple - including the ex-wife of talkshow icon Johnny Carson and Joe Mantegna - and allege that Falk is receiving sufficient care and does not have a close relationship with his daughter.
