Messenger, Biggins for Barnardos

Melinda Messenger and Christopher Biggins are among the new ambassadors for children's charity Barnados.

Singer Heather Small, James Bond star Rosamund Pike, comic Nina Wadia and actresses Lynda Bellingham and Lorraine Ashbourne have also been given the role.

"I firmly believe it's so important to give a child the best chance," said Messenger, who is currently competing on Dancing On Ice.

"Where I can promote Barnardos, I do. Since I spent time and visited the project and works they do I've got a real appreciation for just how valuable the work they do is."
