Carey 'furious at inauguration seating'

Mariah Carey was furious at Barack Obama's inauguration because of the seating plan, say tabloid reports.

According to the New York Post, the singer left the ceremony because she was not satisfied with her spot at Tuesday's event.

"Mariah was in the VIP area, where every celebrity, like Jon Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen, was seated," said a source.

"But somehow she thought she'd be up with the Obama family. When she realised she wasn't, she bailed."

Carey previously described Obama's win as an "incredible achievement" that would give the US a "feeling of hope".
