Geri Halliwell: 'I'm engaged'

Geri Halliwell has confirmed that she is engaged to her boyfriend after a whirlwind two-month relationship.

The singer reportedly met Italian yacht builder Fabrizio Politi at a nightclub in Florence in December.

"We are delighted to announce the engagement of Geri Halliwell and Fabrizio Politi," said her management firm in a statement.

"As a token of their commitment to each other Fabrizio presented Geri with an engagement ring over the festive season. There are no immediate plans for marriage as the couple are enjoying their engagement."

According to The Mirror, the multi-millionaire presented Halliwell with a £223,000 diamond engagement ring. He has also reportedly been wooing her with luxury holidays to the Maldives, Paris and Italy.

A friend told the newspaper that Politi made the singer "blissfully content", adding that he adores Halliwell's two-year-old daughter Bluebell.

"Geri is desperate for another brother or sister for her daughter, and to have a man in her life who can be a father to them. It feels right and they are both very happy."

Halliwell has previously dated backing dancer Ivan Velez, Little Britain star David Walliams and screenwriter Sacha Gervasi, who is Bluebell's father.
