According to E! News, the organisation has leant voice analysis experts to the Bahamian police to help them probe "sensitive" phone calls between lawyers for the Travoltas and the politician who has been accused of extortion.
Senator Pleasant Bridgewater resigned from her parliament post last week after she was arrested on charges of abetment to extort and conspiracy to extort.
FBI experts will listen to the series of calls which revolve around documents obtained by the paramedic who claimed to be present when 16-year-old Jett died.
Ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne reportedly believed that the documents would cause embarassment to the Travoltas if they were made public. Bridgewater was allegedly retained as his solicitor.
Yesterday, Lightbourne pleaded not guilty to attempting to extort and conspiracy to extort money from the actor.
Jett passed away at his family's Bahamas home on January 2 after suffering a seizure.
