The singer, who was expecting a baby with Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons, admitted that it took a long time to get over the tragedy.
"It’s not like I tried to commit suicide but I was in a pretty bad way. I felt like I couldn’t go on living like I was living," she told The Sun.
The star checked herself into a private clinic for three weeks following the incident.
"It wasn’t really rehab - I was in a place called the Capio for three weeks," she said.
"Now I feel a lot happier about things and I’m excited about this new record."
Allen released new single 'The Fear' on January 26.
