Reno gives thumbs up to Carla Bruni

Jean Reno has voiced his approval for Carla Bruni, the wife of his friend and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The actor said that the French public have embraced Bruni because she is not afraid to speak her mind.

"She's accepted because she speaks very frankly," WENN quotes Reno as saying. "She's not always on the same boat as him, and sometimes she can say things which are not in his politics.

"So she can say, 'I don't agree with that'. People are very happy about that because they feel that she's free but in love."

Reno added that Bruni has helped Sarkozy overcome a "difficult" split from second wife Cecilia, saying: "He was very sad after the divorce. It was difficult for him, so I think she is very good for him."
