Previous reports had said that the popstar was granted temporary permission to move their sons - eight-year-old Rocco and adopted three-year-old David Banda - to the US.
According to The Mirror, Ritchie, 40, has said that his children must come first and that he is "happy" with the arrangement.
"He has always put Rocco and David's future ahead of his own and this is why he has relented. He is adamant he wants to keep the boys and their sister Lourdes together. He does not want to tear them apart from each other. Guy is telling Rocco and David he will still see them a lot," a source said.
"He is already making plans to visit the children in America and looking at the possibility of them having holidays in England."
The insider added that negotiations between the two, who divorced in November, had been "fairly amicable".
