CNN's breaking news Twitter is the second most popular blog with around 125,000 followers, according to the latest site statistics.
Fry, who saw interest in his account jump after he discussed the service on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, told The Telegraph that he is "touched and pleased" by his loyal fanbase.
Other notable Twitter users include Lance Armstrong, Britney Spears and John Cleese.
Gordon Brown's Downing Street account reportedly ranked at number 59 with around 27,000 followers.
