Gwyneth Paltrow has claimed that her father-in-law was offended by comments made on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross nine months ago.

On the programme, Ross joked that if the actress wanted to have sex with him he would phone his wife to ask for permission.

He added: "I will f**k you. You're clearly gagging for it."

The comments were later condemned by the BBC Trust for being "gratuitous and not editorially justified".

In an interview with Elle magazine published this month, Paltrow claimed that the remarks were "hilarious to me. Very offensive to my father-in-law".

At the time, the Shakespeare In Love star spoke to Ross about her love of fish and chips, red wine, Branston pickle and Guinness.
