Hilton: 'Cheryl Cole can break America'

Paris Hilton has given her backing to Cheryl Cole in her bid to become a star in America.

Writing in Heat, the socialite admitted that she isn't familiar with Cole, but believes that Simon Cowell has the capability to launch her career Stateside.

"I haven't seen much of Cheryl, but I've heard how much you guys love her," she wrote "She's stunning and I bet they'll love her in the States.

"Simon Cowell is a wise businessman to bring her over - I love him, he's very funny, charming and cool. I haven't invited him to the nightclub in my house yet - but I will!"

Cowell is rumoured to be helping Cole secure a working visa, after she faced problems due to an assault conviction in 2003. Cowell is looking to secure an interview with Oprah Winfrey to raise his X Factor co-judge's US profile.
