The 18-year old granddaughter of the Queen took lessons with a senior instructor from the Metropolitan Police to ensure a successful outcome.
"Apparently, most of the younger members of the Royal Family have been taught by them," a source told the Daily Mail.
"Eugenie did her test around the Windsor and Slough area and was over the moon when she was told she had passed."
The princess was reportedly anxious about her chances after failing the theory component of the test the first time round.
"She was embarrassed and cross with herself because it's pretty easy to pass a theory test," the source added.
"The truth is that she had been out on the town a lot and didn't do any work for it, hoping that it would be simple."
Eugenie, who is currently enjoying a gap year before starting university in the autumn, has been given a £8,000 convertible Nissan Figaro for passing the test.
