Pete Doherty to give uni lecture

Pete Doherty has been announced as a guest lecturer for the University Philosophical Society at Ireland's Trinity College this Friday.

The singer-songwriter will join a list of past speakers which includes John McCain, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Oscar Wilde.

"Come for a taste of what a rock 'n roll (hopefully minus the sex and drugs) lifestyle entails and if you have any burning questions to ask, bring those too!" the society's website states.

Doherty's first solo album Grace/Wastelands will be released in the UK on March 16.
