Jessica Alba has revealed that she lost her pregnancy weight by wearing a girdle.

The Fantastic Four actress told Elle that she decided to wear the elasticated item around her waist on the advice of a friend.

She explained: "I wore a girdle. Eight weeks after my girlfriend had her baby, you could see her six-pack. She told me to put an elastic band around my waist - any kind of band or girdle works.

"I didn't recover as fast as she did. I don't have a six-pack - that's just not my body at all."

The 28-year-old admitted that she attempted to get in shape in the gym but gave up quickly: "[The workouts] were horrible. I cried. And I haven't worked out since."

Alba and husband Cash Warren welcomed their daughter Honor Marie last June.
