Timberlake 'interested in theatre role'

Justin Timberlake has revealed that he is interested in trying his hand at theatre.

According to WENN, the singer would love to perform on stage but is worried that his celebrity status could hinder his credibility.

"I think pop culture has done a number on creativity, because for me to make that statement [about wanting to work on theatre], I get the reaction: 'Really?' It's like, 'Yeah, why wouldn't I?'" he is quoted as saying.

"The opportunity is there. It's sort of like, I have a day job, and this becomes a hobby [that] I can plunge into with full creative eagerness."

Timberlake made a successful transition from music to movies in 2005's Edison. He has since starred in six feature films, including Shrek The Third and The Love Guru.
