Barrymore: 'I'm dismayed by technology'

Drew Barrymore has admitted that she is baffled by new technology.

Speaking to reporters in Los Angeles, the actress confessed that she even finds it confusing using a mobile phone.

"I still have a wall phone, and I love tape and shoot on film, so this whole, like, you’re in your pocket and you have to respond immediately and be quirky and quippy... it’s really difficult," she said.

Discussing her character in upcoming film He's Just Not That Into You, she said: "I wanted to make her the one who’s, you know, dismayed by technology. And it was just a perfect fit for me.

"No guys call anymore; it’s all text. I’m awkward enough on the phone - I’m awkward answering this question - it’s really difficult.

"I wanted to discuss that in film, because it’s so important in our day and age of Facebook and MySpace and the internet and texting and all of this. It’s just a new ballgame."
