Dixon: 'I couldn't get over Harvey'

Alesha Dixon has admitted that it took two years for her to recover from the pain of her marriage split.

The popstar ended her relationship with MC Harvey in 2006 after she discovered that he was having an affair with Javine Hylton. They had married twelve months earlier following a five-year romance.

"When I think back to that period, I can't really remember the first few weeks," Dixon told the Daily Mail. "To tell you the truth, it's a bit of a blur. But you can't be with somebody for six years and get over them just like that. It takes a while to flush them out of your system.

"And, that's why I've been single for two and a half years, because I think it's really important to deal with a past relationship before you go into another one. I feel I've allowed myself to heal. I've stitched myself back up, you might say, and I'm in a good place."

Dixon recently revealed that she has forgiven the rapper for cheating on her.

The singer is expected to enter the top five tomorrow with her latest single 'Breathe Slow'.
