Goody has emergency op to remove tumour

Jade Goody underwent emergency surgery yesterday after doctors discovered that a life-threatening tumour was blocking her bowel, a report claims.

The latest setback for the reality TV star came just days after she was told that cancer had spread throughout her body.

Goody's boyfriend Jack Tweed was said to be at her side last night as doctors waited for her to wake up following the removal of the golf-ball sized tumour.

"This is yet another terrible blow for her," a source told The Mirror. "Things just seem to be going from bad to worse."

The insider added: "Jade was trying to be optimistic and was beginning to think she still had a chance despite all the setbacks. But this has been devastating.

"She was told she had to have surgery almost immediately - because of the size of the tumour and its position the doctors had no real choice but to operate straight away. She was scared."

The tumour was reportedly discovered after Goody complained that she was suffering from agonising stomach pains. She is now expected to spend a "long period" of time in intensive care.
