Max Clifford confirmed reports that the reality TV star underwent emergency surgery yesterday to remove a life-threatening tumour on her bowel.
Goody has spoken extensively to newspapers and magazines since being diagnosed with cervical cancer in August last year. Her battle with the illness has also been documented in a Living TV series.
Clifford explained: "It helps her to think about something else instead of: 'Am I going to live and how long am I going to live?'
"Is she doing it for money? Yes, she's doing it for the money because she has to look after her two boys. She is keeping herself busy which helps her and helps her spirits but it is totally, totally up to her. Living TV have said 'If you want us to stop we will' but she said 'that's fine'."
Doctors discovered the golf-ball sized tumour earlier this week after Goody complained that she was suffering from agonising stomach pains.
"She had been experiencing an awful lot of discomfort - and was blocked up and her tummy was swelling up," Clifford added.
Goody announced that her cancer had spread to her liver, bowel and groin on Wednesday.
