Iman: 'We should not pay pirates ransom'

Supermodel Iman has criticised the payment of ransom money to Somali pirates, it has emerged.

The actress and wife of David Bowie told the New York Daily News that it would be better to not pay off those involved in piracy as it could encourage future incidents.

She said: "Paying their ransom sends the wrong message.

"The Somalis do not lack audacity. Unfortunately, they haven't put it to good use - like putting a government together."
