Aniston celebrates 40th with A-list party

Jennifer Aniston has celebrated her 40th birthday with an A-list party at her Hollywood home, reports E! News.

Celebrity guests included her former Friends co-star Courtney Cox Arquette, Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire, Tom Hanks, Sheryl Crow and Oprah Winfrey.

The actress's boyfriend John Mayer was also present at the bash. A source revealed that the couple stayed together for most of the night, adding: "She looked hot and she and John looked really happy."

Celebrations reportedly began at Aniston's newly renovated Beverly Hills home at around 7pm on Saturday and lasted until 2am the following morning.

The insider revealed that the media were kept away from the event by police, who "kicked all the paparazzi out of the neighbourhood".

Last month, it was rumoured that Mayer was planning a birthday proposal for Aniston, who will celebrate her actual birthday on February 11.
