Report: Fiennes, Dieguez engaged

Joseph Fiennes has reportedly become engaged to his partner of nearly three years Maria Dolores Dieguez.

Close friends of the Spanish speaking model apparently confirmed to the Daily Mail that Fiennes has popped the question.

"It took three months for Joseph to persuade Maria to go on a date with him," a source said.

"She kept refusing his advances because she thought he was just a frisky actor. But she eventually agreed to fly to South Africa, where he was filming, and they've since fallen deeply in love.

"He is learning Spanish for her and studies every day. He's quite good and she's been touched by his efforts."

The 38-year-old Shakespeare In Love actor is planning to marry in Tuscany in August.
