The Gavin & Stacey star was allowed access to to the squad earlier this week to shoot a skit based around him giving a motivational talk to the players.
David Beckham, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand feature in the sketch, which apparently ends with the comedian singing the John Barnes rap from New Order's 1990 hit 'World In Motion'.
"Nine of the senior members of the first team agreed to do it on Monday before they left for Spain," a source told The Sun. "They were all willing to send themselves up for the sketch and played along with the joke.
"A few of the lads were a bit reluctant at first but by the end of it they were really in the spirit of things. The scene ended with James belting out a motivational pep talk to the lads before the big match based on the lyrics of the John Barnes rap. It was hysterical."
