The singer has rented a mansion in Hadley Wood, North London in a bid to move away from her previous scene in Camden, The Sun reports.
A pal said: "It's quiet and there won't be all that temptation on her doorstep.
"But it's near to her home London borough of Enfield and to Camden, so she won't feel too isolated. That's why she has agreed."
Director of the Hadley Wood Association Rod Armstrong said that he was not very familiar with Winehouse, but added that she would be made welcome in the area.
Earlier this month, it emerged that the Back To Black star was considering a move to Jamaica to record her long-awaited third album.
