Shane Richie spends £20K on 'Apes' wagon

Shane Richie has confessed to spending £20,000 on Planet Of The Apes memorabilia during a late night drinking session.

The Minder actor revealed that he made the expensive purchase on eBay while under the influence of Jack Daniels whiskey. Richie was in the middle of divorce proceedings with Loose Women's Coleen Nolan when he invested in the movie goodies.

"eBay was pretty early in its infancy and I was drinking quite heavily at the time, I was going through a bit of a personal thing - Jack Daniels was on my shoulder," he told The Sun.

"So anyway, I've got eBay, Jack Daniels and I'm on my own in the house and I see the original wagon that they throw Charlton Heston into in the film come up.

"I start bidding and anyone who's listening who uses eBay will know it's addictive because you get angry with it. I started at £500, someone put £700 and at the end of the two days I'm up to £9,000."

Richie added: "Bearing in mind I'm going through a divorce, I have no money except Uncle Jack on my shoulder and I am now winning this original wagon!"
