Duffy has had a variety of Welsh daffodil named after her.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has christened the flower, which will be unveiled at its show in Cardiff this April, the Duffydil.

According to ITN, the 24-year-old chose her namesake from a selection grown by the Really Welsh Trading Company. She said: "The Duffydil, brilliant. Maybe now I can forgive myself for stealing them from people's gardens!"

RHS shows director Stephen Bennett said: "The Duffydil is a very special variety that the lovely singer has chosen to bear her name.

"With her global success, we are delighted to bestow this honour on her, and hope that she will be able to be with us at the Cardiff show in April to launch it to the public."

Duffy has been nominated for four gongs at this year's Brit Awards, including best British female solo artist and best British album for Rockferry.
