Winslet family receive further award

Kate Winslet's mother has continued the family winning streak by reportedly being named the Queen Of The Shallots.

Sally Winslet has won her local pub's pickled onion contest for the third year in a row.

According to The Sun, Kate's sister Beth took third place in the closely-fought Retreat Pub competition in East Reading.

Accepting the title, the actress's mother said: "There are a lot of good onions here. I am not entirely sure which ones my onions are. I just boil up the spices with sugar and when the balsamic vinegar is cold I pour it over the onions."

The triumph comes after Kate took home the BAFTA for best leading actress for her role in The Reader.
