Concern is growing for the welfare of 'Baker Street' singer Gerry Rafferty, who has been missing for more than seven months.

The Stealers Wheel member was last seen when he checked himself out of London's St Thomas's Hospital on August 1 last year. He had reportedly entered the facility to overcome liver problems caused by alcohol abuse.

Former bandmate Tony Williams told the Daily Mail that the 61-year-old Scots-born singer has been out of contact with family and friends for many months.

Williams said: "It's absolutely tragic. If he has liver failure he obviously needs someone to look after him. If he is still alive, somebody must be caring for him."

Rafferty, who wrote 'Stuck In The Middle With You' with school friend Joe Egan, has a history of alcohol problems.
