Mother: 'Winehouse is staying in St Lucia'

Amy Winehouse is not planning on returning to the UK any time soon, according to her mother.

The singer has been holidaying on the Caribbean island of St Lucia for nearly two months and has reportedly seen a significant improvement in her health.

"Amy's in a really good place at the moment," mother Janis told Heat. "She is eating well and has put on some weight, which I'm really pleased about.

"She's also been doing so much out there to clear her head, like taking long walks and doing horse riding. She has no plans to come home right now and definitely doesn't want to go back to Camden."

Winehouse is currently embroiled in divorce proceedings with her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil. The singer recently vowed that he would not see a penny of her £10 million fortune.

"The divorce proceedings are still going ahead, but her dad Mitch deals with that side of things," Janis added.

"As for the money, I don't know what is happening with regards to Blake. All I know is that we've looked after her finances. We're a family and we make sure we look after one another."
