Mum: 'Lohan is happy and healthy'

Lindsay Lohan's mother has defended the actress amid claims that she is looking thinner than usual.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Dina Lohan admitted that the Mean Girls star had dropped a few pounds recently but insisted that it was nothing to worry about.

"I told Lindsay I think she’s a little thin," she said. "But we go through this every couple of months. My daughter is happy and healthy and that’s all that really matters."

"I’m a mum. If I see my daughter a little thin, I say, 'Eat more McDonald’s.'"

She added that the public interest in her daughter's frame was bemusing, saying: "I don’t know why people care about other people’s weight.

"I think they should look in their own mirror and stare at themselves.

Earlier this week, Lohan defended her recent weight loss, claiming that it was because of "stress" and "working a lot", adding: "I eat. I had my Big Mac yesterday from McDonald's."
