Allen, Hilton discuss Twitter spat

Lily Allen has slammed celebrity blogger Perez Hilton as a "negative, horrible person", amid reports that the pair had engaged in a war of words on Twitter.

Earlier this week, the pair exchanged insults over the social networking website, which included Allen branding Hilton a "little parasite" and Hilton blasting Allen for being "washed-up".

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Allen said: "I hate him. He really pushes my buttons sometimes. I think that he’s really mean to young successful women.

"He calls women… trying to enjoy themselves 'sl*ts and 'train wrecks', and I think it’s just a really vile way of carrying on. I don’t think it’s responsible in any way."

However, Hilton has defended the online banter as "a bit of back and forth like schoolchildren", adding: "It was very childish."

"[It's] sad because I don’t hate her. I actually really enjoy her," he confessed. "She's just upset that I point out every time she's a hot mess, which is quite often...[S]he doesn't like having her own words and actions thrown back at her, but that's my job.

"That doesn't mean that I can't appreciate her music - that, I do."
