Pink, a well-known supporter of People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals, dressed in an alligator costume for the role.
Comedian Gervais wrote on his blog: "Did a cinema charity ad for PETA. It's a great idea and I play a rabbit, and Pink plays an alligator. I'll post it when it's all finished and shiny."
Another advert by the group, which shows models posing suggestively with vegetables, was recently banned from airing during the US Super Bowl. "[It] depicts a level of sexuality exceeding our standards," said network NBC.
