Anderson 'the Monroe of our time'

Fashion designer Richie Rich has claimed that Pamela Anderson embodies the spirit of screen icon Marilyn Monroe.

Rich was speaking to the New York Daily News after the actress made a surprise guest appearance at the Waldorf-Astoria for his first show as a solo designer.

He said: "She totally embodies the Marilyn Monroe of our times. She is such a sex symbol, and she's so funny.

"We had the quickest fitting in the world. It literally took two seconds upstairs. I did her wedding dress for Kid Rock, so I had her measurements down."

Anderson modelled a one-piece gold thong swimsuit and spray-on glitter at the show.

She said: "I had to come! Richie has done so much for me. Besides, I felt like the trailer park was attacking me, so I had to get out."

Earlier this month, British designer Vivienne Westwood revealed that Anderson was the inspiration for her latest collection.
