The BBC's correspondent for tomorrow's Oscars will reportedly work the red carpet wearing an outfit from Oxfam.

In previous years, the corporation has splashed out on designer gowns for its Academy Awards presenters.

However, Susanna Reid has been offered a choice of credit-crunch budget gowns from the charity's stores across the country to wear at the Kodak Theatre event.

According to the Daily Mail, the 38-year-old enlisted the help of stylist Hannah Sandling to help make the final choice from a selection of vintage wear.

Two years ago, fellow Breakfast correspondent Kate Silverton wore a £9,000 Kruszynska gown.
