Pinto's ex: 'Slumdog' ruined my relationship

Freida Pinto's former fiancé has said that the Slumdog Millionaire star has "ruined his faith in love" after she dumped him following her rise to silver screen fame.

Rohan Antao said the film's global success had contributed to the breakdown in their engagement, as had Pinto's relationship with co-star Dev Patel.

The 24-year-old marketing executive told the News Of The World: "She ended it with me after getting close to Dev Patel. Now everywhere I go I see them on billboards. I am devastated."

Antao added that he could not help but hate the award-winning movie because it "wrecked his relationship". The former couple became engaged days after Pinto secured the role of Latika in December 2007.

Antao claimed that he was dumped over the phone while Pinto was in LA. Meanwhile, rumours of a blossoming romance between Pinto and Patel were fuelled on Valentine's Day when the pair were seen browsing at rings in an Oxford Street jewellers.
