The 36-year-old paparazzo allegedly used his car to knock down a process server who was notifying him of Spears' father's intentions to seek a restraining order against him, according to The AP.
The process holder reportedly clung to the bonnet of Ghalib's car to avoid being pinned to the ground and in the process broke his wrist.
Ghalib has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery and hit-and-run charges. He failed to turn up to a planned hearing in Los Angeles about the restraining order and is thought to have gone missing.
The British photographer recently insisted that he was still in a loving relationship with Spears.
