Barton: 'My fame confuses me'

Mischa Barton has claimed that she cannot understand why people want to read about her.

Speaking to FHM, the former OC star confessed that she is baffled by the continual interest in her personal life.

"The level of fame I've achieved with my career does confuse me," she said. "There's not one day when I don't wake up and ask why on earth anyone would give two hoots about my life."

The actress added that "nearly everything" written about her on the internet is "untrue" but said that people "would continue to write it because they know that I'm not going to spend money hiring a lawyer and then suing them".

She continued: "So instead I've learnt to take it in my stride, get on with my life and let all that stuff slide off my back."
