The Girls Aloud singer was entrusted with the trophy following Wednesday's O2 Brixton Academy bash because the group were unable to make the afterparty.
However, the Daily Mail reports that Harding, 27, lost the award after leaving it in the toilets.
A source said: "As she emerged from the toilets she said, 'F***, where’s that award gone?' It dawned on her she'd left it in the toilets, but it wasn't there when she checked. Someone had nicked it. That's when things got a bit too much for her and she decided to leave."
Oasis were among the big winners at the event, taking home the award for best British band and best blog, while The Killers were named best international band for the third year in a row.
